International Society for Radiation Epidemiology and Dosimetry
1st meeting – 16-18 May 2023, SITGES, SPAIN
FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT: 9/19/2022


The International Society for Radiation Epidemiology and Dosimetry will meet in a hybrid format in 2023 to allow radiation researchers – engaged in research related to epidemiology, biology and dosimetry – to discuss results of studies of radiation effects in humans, provide training opportunities for the next generation of radiation researchers, and promote international collaborations in radiation research.
The first meeting will be held from 16 to 18 May 2023 at Hotel Port Sitges, in the town of Sitges (20 minutes south of Barcelona El Prat (BCN) airport in Spain).
Each session will cover epidemiologic and dosimetric aspects and, as appropriate, other fields including clinical medicine, biology, social sciences & humanities.
Registration will cover costs of lunch and coffee breaks during the meeting, as well as the welcome reception and the Conference Dinner. Information about affordable local accommodation on site will be sent.

The meeting will consist of 3 days of presentations as follows:
16 May Medical Radiation Exposures - new and ongoing studies
17 May Breaking news in radiation and health / Student presentations and posters / “Meet the professor”
18 May Occupational Radiation Exposures – new results and future needs/ Other exposure situations
Please consider the greenest options for travelling if you plan to participate in-person. Keep an eye out for suggestions from the Working Group on Environmental Sustainability on how to calculate your carbon footprint, reduce it and find options for carbon compensation.
